Bitumen Sprayer allows uniform spraying of bitumen. These sprayers are available in capacities of 4 T, 6 T, 8 T, 10 T and 12 Tons. These tar sprayers are with designed to perform in rough conditions and are tried and tested in Indian conditions. Bitumen Pressure Distributor is essential machinery for road building. It is mounted on a suitable truck chassis and moving the same will allow spraying of bitumen on the road prior to laying of hot mix asphalt. It is one of the most important machine for road building.
The tanks are fully insulated form all the sides to avoid heat loss. There is a burner supplied with the machine that will help in maintaining the bitumen in liquid condition. Engine supplied is of reputed make and diesel operated. The design of the machine is very easy and is done with extreme care to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Atlas is manufacturer of truck mounted bitumen pressure distributor. It is available in various capacities. Depending on the size of the sprayer tank a suitable truck has to be selected. It is widely believed by many that a new vehicle is required for installation of the bitumen sprayer machine. But it is not the case. Atlas bitumen sprayer can be mounted on any new or old truck sprayer chassis. The section of a correct truck chassis is very important. We will not recommend a bigger chassis for a smaller machine because it will make the machine longer and hard to move around. An undersized chassis will not be suitable for a bigger tank because the tank may extend out from the chassis. It is also possible that when the sprayer is loaded with bitumen the truck may not be able to move freely.

Tank supplied with the bitumen sprayer is fabricated by a 5 mm MS sheet and is coated by 50 mm glasswool. This is done to prevent heat loss. The outer covering is galvanized. Galvanized tank is better as is preferred as it has long life due to its anti-corrosion properties.
Bitumen storage tank heating is by a first stage heating pipeline of diameter 10 inches and second stage pipeline of diameter 8 inches.
A manhole to fill the tank or for maintenance of 450 mm diameter is provided. A manual as well as an electronic temperature guage is provided with the bitumen pressure distributor for temperature display upto 300 Degrees celcius. Electronic temperature guage is fitted at the drivers cabin. For the ease of access to the top, a ladder and a platform is provided. A cock is given to drain out full bitumen from the tank when required.
Single stage twin cylinder air cooled diesel engine of 25HP at 2000 RPM is provided. Engine is “KIRLOSKAR†model HA 294. Engine powers bitumen pump and air compressor. Fuel consumption of the engine is 3-4 liters per hour.
Diesel compatible burner for adequate heating of viscose binder with oil is provided. The fuel consumption of the burner is 7-8 liters/ hrs. Hand torch type burner is for manually cleaning the pipelines in extreme cold conditions. This burner will be useful to facilitate quick start up of the sprayer in extreme cold conditions. A 100 liters fuel storage tank for burner and 50 liters fuel storage tank for engine is provided.
The engine drives bitumen pump and air compressor.
Bitumen pump is connected to the engine by a heavy duty clutch. Just engaging the clutch will activate the pump. Bitumen pump capacity is upto 500 liters per minute. Bitumen pump pressure can be increased upto 8-10 Bar.
Air compressor is double cylinder of capacity 3 HP and is driven by a V-belt through engine. Compressor gives an output of 3 HP with discharge pressure 150 PSIG and 11.25 CFM.
Return line in Atlas bitumen sprayers is designed in such a way that you can set and adjust the spray bar pressure from the gland cock. The gland cock can also be adjusted to fasten the bitumen heating process during starting up the machine.
Standard spray bar provided with the Atlas tar sprayer is folding type fitted with pressure gauge regulating valve etc.
Standard width of the spray bar is from 2.4 mtrs to 4.2 mtrs which can be extended to upto 6.0 meters.
Adjustment of spray bar height is mechanical.
Pre-heating of spray is by full circulation of preheated bitumen.
Spraying pressure can be adjusted from 0-6 bar.
One Hand spray pipe SS Corrugated ¾†x 5 meter is also provided.
Cleaning of the spray bar is by air pressure and by diesel oil.
Rate of spray application: 0.3-1.0 kg per sq meters, Calibration chart is provided at the operator’s platform.
Bitumen can be also be filled in the tank by the bitumen transfer line. Filling of bitumen is easy and by the same pump which is provided with the sprayer. No extra pump is required.
A pneumatic hand lever valve is provided near the operator’s seat provided with the bitumen pressure distributor. Pneumatic system is important to open and close the spray nozzles.
A very effective cleaning system for all the pipes is provided with the asphalt sprayer near the bitumen pump. At the end of day bitumen flow has to be cut off and entire spray line and spray bar can be cleaned by using air pressure and diesel.
